Two Antique British Satirical Engravings — German Luxury & Loyal Souls

A striking pair of historical black-and-white satirical engravings presented together on a single antique paper sheet. The upper composition, captioned German Luxury — or Repos à l’Allemande, depicts a reclining figure in a rustic interior; the lower composition, captioned Loyal Souls — or A Peep into the King's Arms at Portsmouth (caption reading subject to verification), depicts a spirited gathering raising their glasses around a dining table. Both works display lively period costume, expressive caricature and finely detailed engraved linework.

The sheet is unframed and retains visible age-related toning, edge losses and irregularities, particularly along the left edge. Sold as one sheet containing both prints; not two separate objects. Artist, exact date, printing process and publication details have not yet been independently authenticated.
