The Rotunda on Rare 1932 J. Whatman Paper

"The Rotunda" art print depicts a pen and ink style depiction of the University of Virginia on J. Whatman paper dated 1932 (When held up to the light you can see the watermark). This print is signed "Foster" in the bottom right hand corner. James Whatman invented woven paper. Prior to Whatman's paper, all paper was "laid" with lines running through it. J. Whatman paper was the first of its kind with a smooth surface for artists to create on and prints to be published on making this print a piece of history.
