Mr. Monro's Mallow Botanical Print, Sir Joseph Paxton

Mr. Munro's Mallow, otherwise known as Malva Munroana, was originally created by Sir Joseph Paxton (c. 1838). Prior to his reputation for creating beautiful botanical artwork Paxton began his career as an assistant gardener who later became the head gardener to the Duke of Devonshire. He later went on to design awe-inspiring buildings and is best known for Paxton's Magazine of Botany which is full of his botanical artwork.
